Wheel Quartering Information

  • 2-Cylinder: Cranks positioned 90° apart for smooth power delivery
  • 3-Cylinder: Cranks positioned 120° apart for continuous power
  • 4-Cylinder: Typically two pairs of 180° opposite cranks, 90° between pairs
  • Crank Throw: The radius from wheel center to crank pin
  • Offset: Starting angle for the first crank (usually 0° or set to match other wheels)
  • Model Engineering Tip: Mark crank positions carefully for accurate casting or machining
